About TwinBay
Where Strangers Become Best Friends
Not a slogan we wrote in a meeting. It is what guests keep telling us on the morning they leave.
TwinBay sits between two bays on Koh Lanta. It is not the biggest place on the island and it is not trying to be. It is a handful of bungalows, a garden, a pool, a restaurant with open sides and a bar that faces the sunset.
What makes it work is harder to photograph. Guests arrive not knowing anyone. They eat breakfast next to someone, borrow a scooter with them the next day, and by the end of the week they are planning to come back at the same time next year. It happens with solo travellers, couples, retired divers and families with small children, and it happens without us organising very much at all.
Our job is mostly to leave enough room for it: shared tables instead of separate ones, evenings that pull everyone into the same place, and a team who introduce people rather than process them.

Our team
You are not a room number here.
Many of our team have been at TwinBay for years. They remember returning guests, they remember how you take your coffee, and they will ask about the boat trip you went on yesterday because they actually want to know.
Guests often say the staff are the reason they rebooked. We think that is the highest compliment a small resort can get.

Our guests
People come back to see each other.
Every year a few groups book the same fortnight so they can meet up again — people who met here once, at a table or in the pool, and kept in touch ever since.
If you are travelling alone, you will be fine here. Sit at the bar, join the yoga, lose at table tennis. Somebody will say hello within the hour.
